I'll be sure to inform her so that she can withhold her tithes.Gregnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9695096.post-35047408379771853322010-08-24T08:14:05.752-07:002010-08-24T08:14:05.752-07:00Lately, when Archdiocesan officials issue a statem...Lately, when Archdiocesan officials issue a statement such as the one claiming that they desire to "enter into a professional and Christ-centered conversation" with bloggers, I feel like Charlton Heston. Like I'm being hosed. The level of dishonesty is breathtaking. Christ-centered conversation? Does this include lying? False accusations of "inaccurate posts" and of "lacking charity"?<br /><br />It is Archdiocesan officials who continue to exhibit a lack of honesty and charity.BostonCatholic2011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9695096.post-9704579070035972772010-08-24T07:50:30.826-07:002010-08-24T07:50:30.826-07:00Well said David. It was Louie Verrecchio who wrote, "Our current Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, tells us in his Lenten message that 'Above all, justice comes from grace...'<br /><br />Get that? Social justice lies in the fullness of morality as defined by God, not as calculated by majority rule. It is a function of grace, not government."Paul Anthony Melansonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08455719838570381999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9695096.post-44827374868808750252010-08-24T07:31:25.085-07:002010-08-24T07:31:25.085-07:00I wonder what ever happened to the formal teaching...I wonder what ever happened to the formal teachings of the Holy Catholic Church on the importance of the three pillars that have held up all saints throughout time, namely: prayer, penance and almsgiving? The social justice agenda is, unfortunately, intimately tied to charity/almsgiving, but where is the prayer and the penance? Many forget that blessed mother Theresa spent 3-5 hours in prayer daily before hitting the streets of Calcutta. We are no longer teaching the importance of personal sanctity above all else, less our good works count as nothing. How hard is it to comprehend this teaching of the Church Fathers? It is time for the faithful to take the Church back. When the bishops no longer lead the faithful--we do indeed have a canonical right to this leadership--it is time for the faithful to pray to saint Leo the Great (The Great defender against heresy) and implore, through multiple novenas, the purging of the leadership). I fear that the wolves have entered through the gate and are leading the faithful down a deadly path.David Jameshttp://ourladystearsproductions.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
