"I saw how baleful would be the consequences of this false church..."

"Among the strangest things that I saw, were long processions of bishops. Their thoughts and utterances were made known to me through images issuing from their mouths. Their faults towards religion were shown by external deformities ... I saw what I believe to be nearly all the bishops of the world, but only a small number were perfectly sound. I also saw the Holy Father - God-fearing and prayerful. Nothing left to be desired in his appearance, but he was weakened by old age and by much suffering. His head was lolling from side to side, and it dropped onto his chest as if he was falling asleep ...Then I saw that everything pertaining to Protestantism was gradually gaining the upperhand, and the Catholic religion fell into complete decadence. Most priests were lured by the glittering but false knowledge of young school-teachers, and they all contributed to the work of destruction. In those days, Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a few cottages and in a few families which God has protected from disasters and wars....

As we came nearer, however, the fire abated and we saw the blackened building. We went through a number of magnificent rooms, and we finally reached the Pope. He was sitting in the dark and slept in a large arm chair. He was very ill and weak; he could no longer walk. The ecclesiastics in the inner circle looked insincere and lacking in zeal; I did not like them. I told the Pope of the bishops who are to be appointed soon. I told him also that he must not leave Rome. If he did so, it would be chaos. He thought that the evil was inevitable and he should leave in order to save many things beside himself. He was very much inclined to leave Rome, and he was insistently urged to do so....

I also saw the various regions of the earth. My Guide (Jesus) named Europe and pointing to a small and sandy region, He uttered these words: 'Here is Prussia (East Germany), the enemy.' Then He showed me another place, to the north, and He said: 'This is Moskva, the land of Moscow, bringing many evils'...

I saw also the relationship between two popes ... I saw how baleful would be the consequences of this false church. I saw it increase in size; heretics of every kind came into the city of Rome. The local clergy grew lukewarm, and I saw a great darkness...

I had another vision of the great tribulation. It seems to me that a concession was demanded from the clergy which could not be granted. I saw many older priests, especially one, who wept bitterly. A few younger ones were also weeping. But others, and the lukewarm among them, readily did what was demanded. It was as if people were splitting into two camps.

I saw that many pastors allowed themselves to be taken up with ideas that were dangerous to the Church. They were building a great, strange, and extravagant Church. Everyone was to be admitted in it in order to be united and have equal rights: Evangelicals, Catholics, sects of every description. Such was to be the new Church ... But God had other designs...

I saw again the strange big church that was being built there in Rome. There was nothing holy in it. I saw this just as I saw a movement led by Ecclesiastics to which contributed angels, saints, and other Christians. But there in the strange big church all the work was being done mechanically according to set rules and formulae. Everything was being done according to human reason ...I saw all sorts of people, things, doctrines, and opinions. There was something proud, presumptuous, and violent about it, and they seemed very successful. I did not see a single Angel nor a single saint helping in the work. But far away in the background, I saw the seat of the cruel people armed with spears, and I saw a laughing figure which said: 'Do build it as solid as you can; we will pull it to the ground'...

I saw again the new and odd-looking church which they were trying to build. There was nothing holy about it ... People were kneading bread in the crypt below ... but it would not rise, nor did they receive the body of our Lord, but only bread. Those who were in error, through no fault of their own, and who piously and ardently longed for the Body of Jesus were spiritually consoled, but not by their communion. Then my Guide (Jesus) said: 'This is Babel'...

I saw deplorable things: they were gambling, drinking, and talking in church; they were also courting women. All sorts of abominations were perpetrated there. Priests allowed everything and said Mass with much irreverence. I saw that few of them were still godly... All these things caused me much distress....

Then I saw an apparition of the Mother of God, and she said that the tribulation would be very great. She added that people must pray fervently with outstretched arms, be it only long enough to say three Our Fathers. This was the way her Son prayed for them on the Cross. They must rise at twelve at night, and pray in this manner; and they must keep coming to the Church. They must pray above all for the Church of Darkness to leave Rome... These were all good and devout people, and they did not know where help and guidance should be sought. There were no traitors and enemies among them, yet they were afraid of one another...

I saw more martyrs, not now but in the future ... I saw the secret sect relentlessly undermining the great Church. Near them I saw a horrible beast coming up from the sea. All over the world, good and devout people, especially the clergy, were harassed, oppressed, and put into prison... Whole Catholic communities were being oppressed, harassed, confined, and deprived of their freedom. I saw many churches closed down, great miseries everywhere, wars and bloodshed. A wild and ignorant mob took violent action. But it did not last long... " (Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich, The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich).
More than ever faithful Catholics need to pray for the Holy Father and for those Bishops, priests and religious who remain faithful to the Magisterium. There is in preparation a schism the likes of which few can imagine. Ecclesiastical masonry seeks to build a counterfeit church within the true Church, one which is based on a humanitarian religion which will serve the Antichrist. Our Lady told Fr. Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests, "When there will have entered into her the man of iniquity, who will bring to fulfillment the abomination of desolation which will reach its climax in the horrible sacrilege, as the great apostasy will have spread everywhere, then my Immaculate Heart will gather together the little faithful remnant which, in suffering, in prayer and in hope, will await the return of my Son Jesus in glory." (May 13, 1994).

Catherine Emmerich is describing the current state of the Church in avery realistic manner.
She saw this almost 2 centuries ago!
I wonder which opinion the modernist sycophants of the post VATII Church may have about this text.
How is it possible to dismiss it?
These are prophecies for our times.
But there are nos such unbelievers as those who won't believe that the Church is in apostasy.

  5. The faithful remnant, like of the Old Testament, will continue to cry for God's mercy for the church. We will hold fast to His promise that He will never let the gates of hell prevail against it. I have an uncle who is a "born-again" and his own ravings and words of hate against the Catholic Church makes me even more determined to remain faithful to Holy Mother Church. When the going gets tough, the tough keep praying! God bless

These words are no surprise to me because I read this work many years ago. I would recommend to all (maybe this is your source) the 2 volume set from Tan Books on the life and visions of Emmerich. (I hope they still publish it.) I believed it when I read it since so much rang true even then. It is as though the Holy Spirit is speaking to us directly about our times. God bless you.

giving the page Nr really would not help that much. All books are abridged, to get an original message is hard to come by. To find the truth of such vision is a scientific undertaking if you like it or not.
for true church pls visit Our Ladies Shrine TV unfortunately it is operated only for mass and processions at the time of the birthday celebration

  10. I have always been haunted by the description of Anne Catherine Emmerich of the church she saw and its' relation to our own time. I am however confused. Does this mean that there is a remnant Church AND a modernist church BOTH WITHIN THE STRUCTURE or what? I am trying to understand this prophecy.

  11. Servus, that is exactly what it means. Just one year before his death, back in 1977, Pope Paul VI asked, "Are we close to the end? This we will never know...We must always hold ourselves in readiness, but everything could last a very long time yet. What strikes me, when I think of the Catholic world, is that within Catholicism, there seems sometimes to predominate a non-Catholic way of thinking, and it can happen that this non-Catholic thought within Catholicism, will tomorrow become the stronger. But it will never represent the thought of the Church. It is necessary that a small flock subsist, no matter how small it might be." (The Secret Paul VI, by Jean Guitton).

That was some 35 years ago. And boy how much has changed since then! Now we are witnessing the "non-Catholic thought" Pope Paul VI spoke of beginning to gain ascendancy.

My question is, does this prophecy also pertain to the Novus Ordo Mass that's widely celebrated today around the world? I just had a conversation with someone the other day about the Society of Pius X and the N.O. Mass. The Pius X people for the most part believe that they are the true remnant of God's Church, and they did not, nor will they ever, compromise the truth, like they claim many have since Vatican II. Many of them see the Novus Ordo Mass as invalid, no matter how reverently it is celebrated. They are also currently not in full union with our Holy Father.
My problem with anyone who always sees the Novus Ordo Mass as always invalid is that I know in my own life, that it was God himself who prompted me to start going to daily Mass at the Parish near my home back in 2000 (N.O. Mass). From my attendance at daily Mass, I know that I received the grace and inspiration to go back to Confession after being away from it for over three years. I also learned how to pray the rosary, and also was exposed to Eucharistic Adoration. I've never felt in my prayer that God was telling me to stop attending the N.O. Mass (unless there were major problems with it at a given church, like my old parish) and only attend the Latin Mass.
I'm not naive, and I also see the many problems with the N.O. Mass, both liturgically, as well as the "innovations" that have been introduced by both Priests and laity. I've been fortunate to be able to attend the Traditional Latin Mass. We even had one every Sunday in my old Parish. Unfortunately when we had a change of Pastors, the new one got rid of it as soon as he had an opportunity, and now it's basically the "church of Father Joe." :( I don't believe that God will condemn us simply because we can (for the most part) only attend the N.O. Mass in our area. Fortunately, we have several N.O. Parishes near us that are as reverent as possible. I keep hearing God in my prayers telling me to keep going, keep doing my best to strive for personal holiness, along with frequent intercessory prayers for our country, church, and the world at large, especially now. It's not out of a sense of fear, more like a healthy urgency.

  13. In his exclusive interview with Vittorio Messori in 1985, Pope Benedict XVI (then Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect for the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) expressed how “Vatican II is in the strictest continuity with both previous councils…Whoever accepts Vatican II…at the same time accepts the whole binding tradition of the Catholic Church.” (Ratzinger Report, pg. 28)

Our beloved Holy Father also explained that it is absolutely incorrect to refer to "Pre-Vatican II" and "Post-Vatican II," as if there were changes in the Church's position in matters of faith and morals. This point is lost on both "liberals" and "conservatives" alike within the Church. Both camps have a skewed understanding of the Magisterial teaching of the Church:
    http://www.catholic.net/rcc/Periodicals/Dossier/2000-12/article4.html

Ecumenical Councils are solemn assemblies of the Bishops of the whole world which are called together by the Supreme Pontiff and which meet under his authority as the successor of Peter. As Lumen Gentium, No. 22 teaches: "There never is an ecumenical council which is not confirmed or at least recognized as such by Peter's successor."

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 891 explains: "...The infallibility promised to the Church is also present in the body of bishops when, together with Peter's successor, they exercise the supreme Magisterium, above all in an Ecumenical Council."

Each Ecumenical Council provides us with a better understanding of the mind of Christ which is always present in the life of the Church and therefore may be viewed as a new element in the development of doctrine as well as another event which consolidates Catholic Tradition. This is why Pope Benedict XVI said that, "Whoever accepts Vatican II...at the same time accepts the whole binding tradition of the Catholic Church."

Of course, there are those within the Church who are often described as "liberal" and who disregard those passages of Vatican II which they are uncomfortable with. For example, the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 36, tells us that, "..since the use of the mother tongue, whether in the Mass, the administration of the sacraments or other parts of the liturgy, frequently may be of great advantage to the people, the limits of its employment may be extended.." But this same document tells us (again in No. 36) that: "Particular law remaining in force, the use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites." And No. 54 of this same Vatican II document states: "In Masses which are celebrated with the people, a suitable place may be allotted to their mother tongue. This is to apply in the first place to the readings and 'the common prayer,' but also, as local conditions may warrant, to those parts which pertain to the people, according to the norm laid down in Art. 36 of this Constitution. Nevertheless, steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or sing together in Latin those parts of the ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them."

And hasn't this teaching of Vatican II been largely ignored by those who sought to banish the Latin language altogether?

May we all strive to listen to the voice of Christ as He speaks to us through the Magisterium of His Church. There is no "Pre-Vatican II Church" or "Post-Vatican II Church." These empty slogans are often employed by unhappy individuals who want to promote their own agenda and who often possess a rather distorted idea of what the Church teaches

Thanks Paul! :) And I would add that that distortion extends to both the "liberals" and (some) of the "traditional" groups. I know that Vatican II never actually called for the Novus Ordo Mass to be brought into existence, along with receiving Communion in the hand, etc. But I also don't believe that this means that there are no graces, etc. whatsoever from it. Only God can and will sort out all the (literally!) mass confusion and distortion on both the liberal and traditional sides. Our main calling from him is to strive to be holy in each present moment of our lives, and also to draw others into leading lives of holiness by our own example. This is so needed in today's world.

  15. Archbishop Lefebvre was correct after all. There is a counterfeit church sharing the same people with the Catholic Church, but slowly undermining their faith!
