Juda Myers: Living in the Truth?

After previously threatening me with a lawsuit because of my accurate Blog posts detailing her hateful comments about the Catholic Church, Juda Myers wrote me a new message on Facebook stating that, "..after direction from the Lord based on the bible, I am not going to pursue legal actions."

Translation: I spoke with an attorney who told me I have no case.

The legal definition of libel:

libel

1) n. "To publish in print (including pictures), writing or broadcast through radio, television or film, an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation, by tending to bring the target into ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of others. Libel is the written or broadcast form of defamation, distinguished from slander, which is oral defamation. It is a tort (civil wrong) making the person or entity (like a newspaper, magazine or political organization) open to a lawsuit for damages by the person who can prove the statement about him/her was a lie."

The statement has to be a lie. The problem for Ms. Myers is that I have copies of our exchanges.

Now Ms. Myers is attempting to demonize me on Facebook. She has accused me of being "angry" and is asserting that I need "someone to attack." The hypocrisy is so thick it's almost unbelievable. This from the woman who wrote, "I am sorry that you have been deceived to think that the CATHOLIC church killing, stealing, overpowering, ostentatious, and filled with the greed for supremacy has any resemblance of Jesus our humble Savior who DIED for His followers. He NEVER sat on a throne on earth and NEVER even suggested for anyone to sit on a throne and be kissed and bowed to...There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end leads to destruction. Their mouths honor me but their hearts are far from me (Jesus' words) Many will say in that day, 'Lord Lord didn't I do this in your name.' and He will say 'Depart from me. I never knew you!' You'd better be absolutely sure the god you serve will save you. Pope of any kind will answer to God almighty. I will go straight to the throne for my headship..." Yes, clearly I'm the one with the anger management problem who's looking for a fight.
This is most unfortunate. For, as the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us, "The Old Testament attests that God is the source of all truth. His Word is truth. His 'faithfulness endures to all generations.' Since God is 'true,' the members of his people are called to live in the truth." (CCC, 2465). And again, "Truth or truthfulness is the virtue which consists in showing oneself true in deeds and truthful in words, and in guarding against duplicity, dissimulation, and hypocrisy." (CCC, 2468).

This obligation is very serious. In 1 John 1:6, we are told that, "If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth."

I call upon Juda Myers to apologize for her hateful characterization of the Catholic Church, the Mystical Body of Christ. To accuse the Church of evil is to accuse Christ of evil. To attack the Church is to attack Christ Jesus Himself. When the Lord Jesus appeared to Saul, who had been persecuting the Church, He asked him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" (Acts 9:4).

Thank God for the Catholic League which fights this sort of hatred on a daily basis. EWTN shouldn't have anything to do with her. They are probably unaware of this and should be contacted.

  2. She has it right with abortion thank God.

She is doing better than many Catholics who are pro-abortion and pro-homosexual relations.

Try to demonstrate to her patiently why Christ wills the Catholic Church. She believes in Jesus. Help her.

  3. I actually tried that approach Thomas. And I was rewarded with libel and posts on her Facebook page demonizing me. You cannot reach some people. All one can do is pray. But then, prayer is much.

You are right about many Catholics being pro-abortion and in support of same-sex "marriage" and same-sex relationships in general. This too is a source of scandal.
And I have tackled this scandal numerous times.

I would still like to see Ms. Myers apologize for the angry and hateful comments about the Catholic Church. Christians should work together and avoid engaging in calumnious attacks against one another.

I don't believe "Thomas" is here in good faith. Could this really be Juda or one of her friends? "Thomas" seems anxious to defend Juda, "She is doing better than many Catholics," and downplays the seriousness of her offensive comments as well as her libel of you Paul.

Juda wrote on her Facebook wall, "Must be doing something that angered the demons."

No Juda. Not the demons. Catholics who really love their faith. I realize that for you that is the same thing. Which is precisely what makes you a bigot.

  5. I am far more offended by Catholics who promote abortion, homosexual acts or even disobedience to Church authority that Christ demands obedience to.

A lost protestant soul who doesn't understand Christ stated the Catholic Church has far more hope. Especially when they show they understand natural law.

  6. Thomas, it was Pope John XXIII who said that the Church's peace "is not completely untroubled and serene; it is active, not calm and motionless. In short, this is a peace that is ever at war. It wars with every sort of error, including that which falsely wears the face of truth.." (Ad Petri Cathedram).

That's EVERY sort of error. Understand?

If Juda Myers comments had been anti-Semitic, or if she had referred to African-Americans as "ni.....," you would be outraged - and rightfully so.

Is anti-Catholicism any less morally offensive?

Ms. Myers and her clan on her "Consider This" Facebook page today started bashing the Catholic church and calling it unbiblical and so forth, using the "Bone Church" in Prague as prooftext for this. I made a number of very good points and used reason and logic to state my points. I indicated that this is an ossuary that is underneath the sanctuary, that the ossuary has a long history (explained that history), indicated why the laws against touching the dead are Old Testament ritualistic purity laws that no longer apply, since the physical temple was destroyed and replaced by the living Temple which is Christ himself. I stood my ground firmly, but I did not resort to name calling and hyperemotionality. I also stuck up for myself while being surrounded by a bunch of bullies there. Her response was to block me and then after blocking me to accuse me of "picking a fight" and being a "hypocrite." The whole thing started when she posted a picture of "Bone Church" and said is your church dead like this church? I said this was disrespectful and explained why. Then it became open season on Catholics, followed by my being banned. I do not believe this behavior is in any way loving or unifying or Scriptural. It is divisive. It is meanspirited. That she would jump on the back of Catholicism and use EWTN and Priests for Life to peddle her books and websites is shameful. If she really hates Catholicism so much, she should completely divorce herself from it rather than lying to the gullible, which you, sir, thankfully are not.
