Hatred for the Crucifix and those who revere it: An Emerging Sign

When one of the world's leading exorcists, Father Gabriele Amorth, was asked how one can tell if someone is possessed, he replied, "By their aversion to the sacrament and all things sacred." One of the clearest signs of demonic possession is a hatred for the Eucharist or the crucifix.

In 1 Corinthians 1: 18-19, St. Paul tells us that "The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside.'"

As the proud and the foolish rebel against the Lord Jesus, we can expect hatred for the cross to escalate. Look at Dianne Williamson's attempt to rationalize such hatred.

7 killed in drive-by shooting outside Egypt church

Coptic festival in Egypt
At least 7 people were killed in a drive-by shooting Wednesday outside a church in Egypt as a group of worshippers were leaving a midnight mass for Coptic Christmas.

The attack took place outside the Virgin Marcy church in the town of Nag Hammadi in Egypt's southern Qena province.

The Interior Ministry said the attack seems to be in retaliation for the rape of a 12-year-old Muslim girl by a Christian man in the town.

Six worshippers and one security guard were killed in the attack, Bishop Kirollos of the Nag Hamadi Diocese, told the Associated Press.

"A driving car swerved near me, so I took the back door. By the time I shook hands with someone at the gate, I heard the mayhem, lots of machine gun shots," Bishop Kirollos said in a telephone interview.

Violent outbreaks between the communities in southern Egypt are not unprecedented, often resulting from disputes over land and construction of churches.

About 10 percent of Egypt's 83 million people are Christians, mostly Coptic.

Catholic High School student assasinated:

U.S. High School Student Assassinated in Mexico
Wednesday, January 06, 2010

TIJUANA, Mexico — The killing of a teenager from a prominent Tijuana family who attended high school in California was a targeted assassination, the attorney general of the Mexican border state of Baja California said Wednesday.

Jose Fernando Labastida, 17, was shot in a late-model Audi car with California license plates near his home on Monday. Initial investigations indicate he was shot six times, and nearly 60 shell casings were found at the scene, most from assault rifles.

Attorney General Rommel Moreno said Labastida was the victim of "a direct attack to assassinate him," apparently not a botched kidnap attempt.

Labastida resided in Tijuana but attended the Catholic Mater Dei High School in Chula Vista, California.

A U.S. consular official said Labastida was a U.S. citizen. His grandfather, Gilberto Fimbres, is one of the owners of the Calimax supermarket chain.

It sure does appear that the Church is entering a period of intense persecution. Prepare your family for the catacombs now before it's too late.

I don't know what to call the situation in my church. Behind the altar is a corpse without the Cross. Jesus' body is hanging suspended in mid air with no Cross to back him up.

Is that hatred of the Crucifix in our very own Church? by our very own priest? Sounds like it.
