Blessed Anna Maria Taigi was a true mystic. As Ted and Maureen Flynn note, she "knew with certainty the fate of the dead. Her gaze traveled to the ends of the earth and discovered there people on whom she had never set eyes, reading them to the depth of their souls. One glance sufficed; upon whatever she focused her thoughts, it was revealed to her and her understanding. She saw the whole world as we see the front of a building. It was the same with nations as with individuals; she saw the cause of their distresses and the remedies that would heal them.
By means of this permanent and prodigious miracle, the poor wife of Domenico Taigi became a theologian, a teacher, and a prophet. The miracle lasted forty-seven years. The poor, the great of the world, and the princes of the Church came to her for advice or help. They found her in the midst of her household cares and often suffering from illness. She refused neither her last crust of bread nor the most precious moments of her time, yet she would accept neither presents nor praise...She touched the sick and they were cured; she warned others of their approaching end, and they died holy deaths. She endured great austerities for the souls in purgatory, and the souls, once set free, came to thank her...She suffered in body and soul...She realized that her role was to expiate the sins of others, that Jesus was associating her with His Sacrifice." (The Thunder of Justice, pp. 351-352).
Now it was Blessed Taigi who warned that, "God will send two punishments; one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the rosary and beg God for mercy...All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms. Religion shall be persecuted, and priests massacred. Churches shall be closed, but only for a short time. The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome.."
Is this prophecy about to be fulfilled in our own time? Blessed Taigi spoke of two chastisements: one which takes the form of wars, revolutions and other evils [such as famine?] and the other from Heaven in the form of three days darkness. Witness the wars and more specifically the revolutions springing up everywhere And the three days darkness? Scientists have said that a volcanic eruption, such as this one scientists are currently warning about, could easily blot out the sun for several days* and potentially take countless lives.
Our Lady told Father Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests that there would be various signs indicating that the end of the times and the coming of Jesus in glory would be near. "The second sign," said the Immaculata, "is the outbreak of wars and fratricidal struggles, which lead to the prevalence of violence and hatred and a general slackening off of charity, while natural catastrophes, such as epidemics, famines, floods, and earthquakes, become more and more frequent. When you hear of reports of wars, close at hand or far away, see that you are not alarmed; for these things must happen." (December 31, 1992).
The third sign, according to Our Lady, is "the bloody persecution of those who remain faithful to Jesus and His Gospel and who stand fast in the true faith." And the fourth, "..the horrible sacrilege, perpetrated by him who sets himself against Christ, that is, the Antichrist.."

That is indeed a powerful prophecy. A lot of people will not heed it though. Today the supernatural is dismissed be a secular mindset which cannot see beyond the horizons of this earth. Never mind that Blessed Taigi's charisms have all been acknowledged by the Church, there are those who just don't want to hear it.
I would like to know where we can get blessed candles.
Any thoughts, Paul?
I take this very seriously, and, indeed, I do think we are nearing the "End Times".
Any idea where we can get the blessed candles?
I take this very seriously and think that the End Times are close at hand.

To L. Spinelli:
I'm sorry to hear that you lack joy. The purpose of this Blog is to warn people of coming events so that they may take refuge in Our Lord and Our Lady.
Apart from Jesus and Mary, there is NO joy!
To L. Spinelli who finds this Blog to be "lacking in joy" because its posts hit a nerve, I offer the following excerpt from a previous Blog post:
"Our Lord is so rich in mercy that He told Saint Faustina, "Let the greatest sinners place their trust in My mercy. They have the right before others to trust in the abyss of My mercy. My daughter, write about My mercy towards tormented souls. Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable mercy.." (Divine Mercy in My Soul, Notebook III, 1146). This is one of the reasons I began this Blog. To promote the whole idea of reconciliation. The La Salette message is one of reconciliation. This is a message of hope. But also one of warning.
But many Americans - and this includes Catholics - have a tendency to hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest. Such people will read passages from Sacred Scripture (or other holy books) which they find comforting while glossing over others which they find troubling. By way of example, I've read many commentaries which cite the passage from Divine Mercy in My Soul which I just cited but which conveniently omit the last portion of the paragraph: "Write: before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy. He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice..."
A chastisement is coming. Why? Father Albert Hebert, S.M., explains: "Sin and evil is the one enemy of mankind. It spearheads the columns of all the other evils it brings with it. It brings destruction and death, and a terrible eternal death for the unrepentant, those who flaunt their pride and their resistance in the face of a Loving and Merciful God, those who are a continuous scandal to others. They forget that God's Justice must be infinite too, and that sooner or later it must be exercised to preserve His honor and integrity, to save the innocent, to confirm the good and to justify the martyrs."
Make no mistake about it: God will not be mocked. Unless we as a people repent from our sins and make atonement, the chastisement we face will be indescribable. How many innocent babies have been murdered every year? Do you suppose that the blood of Abel cried out to God after his murder but that the blood of these babies does not? Sins of homosexuality, contraception, fornication, adultery and so on. Do you suppose God will continue to allow Himself to be mocked?"
If this Spinelly finds the warning of Jesus and Mary given to Catholic seers to be "depressing," then I would have to worry about his or her soul. Only someone who is not right with the Lord Jesus would be depressed over a coming chastisement. For those of us who are living a sacramental life, the iminent return of Jesus - or simply the cleansing of societal evils through a chastisement - is a good thing.
Go figure.
L. Spinelli is a woman from New Jersey who is on a mission to attack people like Blessed Taigi while promoting Wayne Weible and Medjugorje - even though Medjugorje has not yet been approved by the Church. In an Amazon book review, she writes, "Read the Wayne Weible books on Medjugorje if you want to understand the true meaning behind Marian apparitions."
But who made her an authority on marian apparitions? She trashes Church-approved mystics like Blessed Taigi and St. Padre Pio who spoke of the Three Days Darkness while promoting Wayne Weible?
Red flags.
