"So this is what we’ve come to in America: religious objections to homosexuality, rooted in the Bible, natural law and the teachings of most religions, is nothing more than a pernicious phobia. The English psychiatrist William Sargant observes that: "It is not the mentally ill but ordinary people who are most susceptible to 'brainwashing,' 'conversion,' 'possession,' 'the crisis'....and who...fall readily under the spell of the demagogue or the revivalist, the witch-doctor or the pop group..." Dr. Sargant explains that once the proselyte has been broken down and sensitized, his thinking and feelings can be manipulated and delusions implanted. Propaganda may be used to break people down by telling them that their old values and sentiments "are childish."
Such propaganda is already being employed, and quite effectively, by the mainstream media and even by those within the Catholic Church who want to convince the populace that the homosexual "lifestyle" is acceptable and even a positive good. This is preparation for the new humanitarian religion and the Man of Sin. Last year, President Obama asserted that those who oppose homosexuality are clinging to worn out arguments. As I noted in a previous post, The Catholic Free Press, the official newspaper for the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts, has bought into this homosexual agitprop.
But Pope John Paul II has warned us that, "...'the dominion granted to man by the Creator is not an absolute power, nor can one speak of a freedom to use and misuse, or to dispose of things as one pleases. The limitation imposed from the beginning by the Creator himself and expressed symbolically by the prohibition not to eat of the fruit of the tree (cf. Gen 2: 16-17) shows clearly enough that, when it comes to the natural world, we are subject not only to biological laws but also to moral ones, which cannot be violated with impunity.'" (Evangelium Vitae, No. 42, citing Sollicitudo Rei Socialis).
