Could this be why so many priests today refuse to preach on the Rosary?

In his Encyclical Letter Ingravescentibus malis, Pope Pius XI insisted that, "Among the various public prayers which we successfully address to the Virgin Mother of God the Holy Rosary occupies a particular and distinct place.  In the time of the Crusades one voice, one single supplication arose from all people throughout Europe.  See here.  Today also, the people must seek by their insistent entreaties to obtain from the powerful Mother of God that the enemies of Christianity and human civilization be deterred, and that true peace may shine upon tired and disturbed men."

If this be true - and it most certainly is - why are our ""shepherds" (for the most part) today in the Catholic Church remaining silent about the efficacy of this most powerful spiritual weapon?  Could it be that many of these clerics are simply anxious to provide cover for the supporters of Satan and their crusade against Christ's Church?

The Universal Living Rosary Association (of which I am proudly a member), in their booklet on Father Mateo's Rosary Meditation, reminds us that, "The Heresy of Worldliness chiefly among the well-to-do and the ruling classes is this: Drink, dance, enjoy yourself, drain the cup of all the illicit pleasures and so make life a carnival and one unending round of pleasure without the least concern about death, judgment and eternity!  The worldling lives or rather vegetates in a noisome swamp.  And, all the while, in the somber underground, devious plots are being woven by secret societies to hold the Church in check, and to counteract Her work through secularized legislation.....The paganized laws of divorce, of the godless school, the secularized state, all tending towards the official ostracism of God and His Christ - all these laws have been nurtured by the modern Sanhedrin of the Masonic associations.  It was the great Pope Leo XIII who wrote the famous encyclicals on the Rosary, ordered the three Hail Marys and the prayer to St. Michael to be said after Mass because he has explicitly in mind these Lodges and their vicious propaganda.  Masonic groups have been solemnly condemned by nine Sovereign Pontiffs under the gravest censures!"

The Rosary Crusade against Satan and his followers is one of pity and mercy for sinners.  It aims at the conversion of these poor lost souls.  The Rosary, as the ULRA remins us, "..had its origin on the field of battle.  It was raised as a fortified wall around the City of God to protect it from invasion by heresies."

Could this be why so many priests today refuse to preach on the Rosary or to encourage its devotion?  In order that the Trojan Horse of Heresy may all the more easily infiltrate into that Holy City?

 I have always viewed the sling which David used to slay Goliath as a harbinger, a sort of figure or sign pointing to the Holy Rosary which would be given to the faithful by Our Lady and by which they would “crush the head of Satan” – “the very seat of his pride” as Saint Louis de Montfort puts it. We read in 1 Samuel 17:

“With his shield-bearer marching before him, the Philistine also advanced closer and closer to David. When he had sized David up, and seen that he was youthful and ruddy, and handsome in appearance, he held him in contempt. The Philistine said to David, ‘Am I a dog that you come against me with a staff?’ Then the Philistine cursed David by his gods and said to him, ‘Come here to me, and I will leave your flesh for the birds of the air and the beasts of the field.’ David answered him: ‘You come against me with sword and spear and scimitar, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel that you have insulted. Today the Lord shall deliver you into my hand; I will strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will leave your corpse and the corpses of the Philistine army for the birds of the air and the beasts of the field; thus the whole land shall learn that Israel has a God. All this multitude, too, shall learn that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he shall deliver you into our hands’…David put his hand into the bag and took out a stone, hurled it with the sling, and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone embedded itself in his brow, and he fell prostrate on the ground. Thus David overcame the Philistine with sling and stone..” (1 Samuel 17: 41-47, 49-50).

The Devil is the adversary of faithful Christians. And, like Goliath, he seems to cast a big shadow. But when we approach him on the battlefield [“For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens,” Eph 6:12] we have our own sling as a weapon – the Holy Rosary. And every bead, every Hail Mary prayerfully recited, is hurled as a weapon against the Devil’s head, the seat of his pride. Therefore, Montfort exhorts us, “So arm yourself with the arms of God, with the holy Rosary, and you will crush the devil’s head and stand firm in the face of all his temptations. That is why even a pair of rosary beads is so terrible to the devil, and why the saints have used them to fetter him and drive him from the bodies of those who were possessed.” (The Secret of the Holy Rosary, 85).

Facebook does not consider hate-filled attacks on the Virgin Mary to constitute a violation of its standards

 

 

A website which exposes cases of Christianophobia is reporting that in July, an anti-Christian Facebook page stated that “Mary should have aborted”. The page was reported to the facebook service but they responded that this content does not violate community standards on hate speech.

 

The page shows a drawing of the virgin Mary who lifts up her dress and says, looking at her pregnant belly: "Fuck.” There are other insulting pictures, comics and statements on that facebook page, such as Mary saying: “It’s ok Joseph, I’m not a whore. The lord came upon me and I conceived.”; Joseph: “Yeah okay someone *came upon you* but I don’t think it was the lord.” This is “liked” by over 1900 people. A facebook user wrote to the facebook service to report that page. The answer was: “Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed THE PAGE you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it DOESN’T violate our community standard on hate speech.”

Our times are growing ever darker.  And even though Our Lady has provided us with a most efficacious spiritual weapon in the Holy Rosary, few Catholic priests today emphasize its power in driving out devils.  Pope Pius XII, in his Letter to the Master General of the Order of Friars Preachers (Novimus libenter) of July 11, 1957, noted that the Holy Rosary, whether recited in churches or in homes, is "very valuable in obtaining divine grace for us and in bringing about a reformation of Christian morals."

 

The Holy Father also stressed that, in his Encyclical Letter Ingruentium malorum, he strongly recommended the marian rosary to Christians of every human condition, "as if we had confidence - and we indeed do - that the most powerful Mother of God, implored by the voice of so many of her children, would in her goodness obtain from God that private and public morals might be restored more and more with each day, and that the Catholic religion, free everywhere from every and all possible unjust obstacles, might fulfill the role entrusted to it by God, and exercise its redemptive power not only in the soul of every citizen, but also in the very arteries of nations, with the result that the mutual duties and rights of all might be governed and applied in a right order, and that in this way concord and not division, charity and not hatred, the advancement of this peace and not the ruins of a new war, might rise."

 

Pope Pius XII, in his Encyclical Letter Ingravescentibus malis, assures us that, "...if in the intoxication of its pride our age pokes fun at the holy rosary and scornfully rejects it, there is a countless multitude of saints of every age and condition of life who have always held it dear.  They have recited it with great devotion and have had recourse to it at all times as a very powerful weapon to put demons to flight, to preserve integrity of life, to acquire virtue more easily, and to obtain peace among men..."

 

Our priests (for the most part) no longer emphasize the importance of the Holy Rosary.  And we wonder why we have no peace throughout our broken, angry culture.  And we wonder why dissent has spread like a cancer throughout the Church while so many - both priests and laity - have succumbed to immorality and every sort of vice.

 

I have tried in vain to promote the Holy Rosary as a spiritual remedy within my Diocese [Worcester, Mass]. This, no doubt, is why I am about as welcome as Andrew Dice Clay would be at a NOW meeting.  We have tried to convert our culture on our own power and with our own strength.  How far have we gotten?  Isn't it time to have recourse to Saint Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration and daily recitation of the Holy Rosary?

The evil spirits were particularly enraged by the blessed medal of Saint Benedict

St. Benedict was the father of Western Monasticism. He was born in Nursia, Italy, in 480. Beginning in 520, he founded twelve monasteries in the region of Subiaco. The foundation at Monte Cassino (529) became the cradle of his Order. His twin sister was St. Scholastica. Benedict died march 21, 542.


St. Benedict had a profound veneration for the Holy Cross and for our Saviour Crucified. In virtue of the Sign of the Cross he wrought many miracles and exercised great power over the spirits of darkness.

In consequence of the great veneration in which St. Benedict was held from the early middle ages, it followed that a medal was struck.

His medal has exceptional powers against the demons of Hell.

The Medal of Saint Benedict is one of the Sacramentals of the Church. The value and power of the Medal must be ascribed to the merits of Christ Crucified, to the efficacious prayers of St. Benedict, to the blessing of the Church, and specially to the faith and holy disposition of the person using the Medal.


Description


The front of the medal shows St. Benedict holding a cross in one hand and the book of his Rule in the other. Flanking him on each side are the words: Crux S. Patris Benedicti (The Cross of the Holy Father Benedict).

Below his feet are these words: Ex S M Casino MDCCCLXXX (From the Holy Mount of Cassino, 1880). On that date , Monte Cassino was given the exclusive right to produce this medal.

Inscribed in the circle surrounding Benedict are the words: Ejus in obitu nostro presentia muniamur (May his presence protect us in the hour of death).

The other side of the medal is where the real exorcistic force reveals itself. In the center is the Cross. Benedict loved the Cross and used it to drive away demons.

The vertical beam of the Cross has five letters: C.S.S.M.L., meaning Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux (May the holy Cross be for me a light).

The horizontal beam of the Cross also has five letters: N.D.S.M.D., meaning Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux (Let not the dragon be my guide).

The four large letters at the angles of the Cross: C S P B stand for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti (The Cross of the Holy Father Benedict).

Encircling the Cross in a circle around the right margin are these letters: V.R.S.N.S.M.V., meaning Vade retro Satana; nunquam suade mihi vana (Begone Satan! Suggest not to me thy vain things).

Around the left margin of the circle are these letters: S.M.Q.L.I.V.B., meaning Sunt mala quae libas; ipse venena bibas (The drink you offer is evil; drink that poison yourself).

At the top of the circle is the word PAX (Peace).

Use

No special way of carrying or applying the Medal is prescribed. It may be worn around the neck, attached to the scapular or the Rosary or simply carried in one's pocket.

Often it is placed in the fields, the foundations of buildings or attached to automobiles to call down God's blessing and the protection of St. Benedict. No particular prayer is prescribed, as the devout wearing itself is a continual silent prayer."

What is not very well known is that St. Benedict had to wrestle regularly against the principalities and powers of this world.  The holy and heroic Saint was confronted by extraordinary manifestations of evil spirits who resisted the building of his monastery on the crest of Monte Cassino.  The reason for these unusual confrontations?  Monte Cassino had been a place where Satanism was practiced.  Evil spirits would appear in visible form to the saintly monk (as they would to St. Padre Pio in his day) and would instigate accidents and strange occurrences.  On more than one occasion, St. Benedict found it necessary to exorcize some of his monks.

It is not known for certain when the medal of Saint Benedict originated.  However in 1647, during a trial for witchcraft at Natternberg, near the abbey of Metten in Bavaria, the accused women testified that they had no power over the abbey.  A later investigation revealed that a number of painted crosses surrounded by the letters described above were all over the walls of this abbey.

So powerful is the Saint Benedict medal (worn with faith in Christ and His Church and not superstitiously), that the evil spirits cannot bear to be around it.  For example, Father Montague Summers relates how, "In the case of the possessed boys of Illfurt (Alsace) they exhibited the utmost horror and dread of a Medal of St. Benedict."  He says that two of the five sons of Joseph Burner and Anna Maria, his wife, "were seized with a mysterious illness which would not yield to the ordinary remedies....a number of..doctors were..consulted [and] declared themselves unable to diagnose such extraordinary symptoms...the two boys displayed most abnormal phenomena.  Whilst lying on their backs they spun suddenly round like whirling tops with the utmost rapidity.  Convulsions seized them, twisting and distorting every limb with unparalleled mobility, or again their bodies would for hours together become absolutely rigid and motionless so that no joint could be bent, whilst they lay motionless as stocks or stones...Their voices were, however, not their normal tones nor even those of children at all, but the strong, harsh, hoarse articulation of rough and savage men.  For hours together they would blaspheme in the foulest terms, cursing and swearing, and bawling out such hideous obscenities that the neighbors took flight in sheer terror at the horrible scenes...They seemed particularly enraged by the blessed medal of Saint Benedict and pictures of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour."

I have had the Saint Benedict Medal Crucifix for years.  And there have been many times when I was wearing it that I have experienced strange manifestations of evil.  For example once, when I was leaving Buckley's Religious Goods store in Leominster, Massachusetts (at their old location),  a man walked out of the woods and in front of my automobile and stopped.  He was screaming and uttering unintelligible words.  His eyes actually appeared to be red.  On another occasion, while refuting the errors of a group of individuals who were disparaging devotion to Our Lady (at a Catholic parish dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary!) in Gardner, Massachusetts - during a Bible study - the lights began to flicker on and off and the Bible study leader, who was wearing dark sunglasses at night in the Church basement, stared at me for some ten minutes with a look which I have never forgotten.  It was a look of pure hatred and malice.

We live in times which are growing ever darker as men abandon faith in God and His Church.  Arm yourselves: Frequent Holy Mass often, adore the Holy Eucharist, confess your sins regularly (I recommend at least once a month), and make use of the Church's sacramentals.  Among these the most highly indulgenced medal: the Saint Benedict Medal.
