"A general convergence of religions upon a universal Christ who fundamentally satisfies them all: that seems to me the only possible conversion of the world, and the only form In which a religion of the future can be conceived. "(Teilhard De Chardin Christianity and Evolution p. 130)
According to a press release posted on the Dow Jones & Company's Market Watch website, readers should prepare for a miracle which everyone will see in the sky shortly before the "emergence of Maitreya and his group, the Masters of Wisdom." As Paul Proctor so eloquently put it, "This is a major business and financial news publication - not some obscure blog for Bigfoot hunters and UFO enthusiasts." Why such a strange message from such a respected financial news publication? If it were the Enquirer or some other silly tabloid which regularly runs stories about two-headed babies and Elvis sightings, we could just laugh and shrug it off. But the Dow Jones & Company's Market Watch website?
Read what Pere Teilhard de Chardin, S.J. had to say about this coming "Christ" here. As Maritain said, Teilhard preserves Christ in his theology, but what a Christ!

We are being prepared by the various world governments and those in authority to accept the One who will promise an earthly paradise at the price of apostasy from the truth. Whether one calls this One Maitreya or somehting else, he is still the One foretold by Sacred Scripture, the Antichrist.
SACRED CONGREGATION OF THE HOLY OFFICE
MONITUM CONCERNING THE WRITINGS
OF FR. TEILHARD DE CHARDIN
June 30, 1962
Reiterated on July 20, 1981
Admonition
Several works of Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, some of which were posthumously published, are being edited and are gaining a good deal of success.
Prescinding from a judgment about those points that concern the positive sciences, it is sufficiently clear that the above-mentioned works abound in such ambiguities and indeed even serious errors, as to offend Catholic doctrine.
For this reason, the most eminent and most revered Fathers of the Holy Office exhort all Ordinaries as well as the superiors of Religious institutes, rectors of seminaries and presidents of universities, effectively to protect the minds, particularly of the youth, against the dangers presented by the works of Fr. Teilhard de Chardin and of his followers.
Given at Rome, from the palace of the Holy Office, on the thirtieth day of June, 1962.

A re-iteration of the previous notification was given to clarify the rumors that the ban had been lifted.
Communique of the Press Office of the Holy See appearing in the English edition of L'Osservatore Romano, July 20, 1981.
The letter sent by the Cardinal Secretary of State to His Excellency Mons. Poupard on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Fr. Teilhard de Chardin has been interpreted in a certain section of the press as a revision of previous stands taken by the Holy See in regard to this author, and in particular of the Monitum of the Holy Office of 30 June 1962, which pointed out that the work of the author contained ambiguities and grave doctrinal errors.
The question has been asked whether such an interpretation is well founded.
After having consulted the Cardinal Secretary of State and the Cardinal Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which, by order of the Holy Father, had been duly consulted beforehand, about the letter in question, we are in a position to reply in the negative. Far from being a revision of the previous stands of the Holy See, Cardinal Casaroli's letter expresses reservation in various passages--and these reservations have been passed over in silence by certain newspapers-- reservations which refer precisely to the judgement given in the Monitum of June 1962, even though this document is not explicitly mentioned.
This Blog post is absolutely powerful. I just discovered your Blog through your author page at Associated Content. I'll be back. Keep up the terrific posts!
New Age occultists are preparing for the emergence of Antichrist whom they refer to as "Maitreya." They even claim various phenomenon have occurred. This link from Share International is very revealing:

It is the remnant who will (who throughout history has also)recognized the signs that God sends.
Years ago, I spoke with a member of the Pontifical Counsel For the Laity who said privately,
"The reign of the antichrist is coming soon and you better decide now who you are going to serve".
When I asked this man to comment further, he replied
"They" can take your property away from you, "they" can put you in jail without representation, by naming you "an enemy of the state"
you are able to travel as a privilege, and meet to pray and worship, also this way,
because there is a benevolent President that allows us to."
At the time he said this, President GW Bush, Jr., was in Office.
Basically, this man was showing us how our country is poised for this
"reign of antichrist".
Many other "signs" as many have left the faith, few have received solid catechesis training in their youth.
The remnant knows to renew and promote the St Louis De Montfort Consecration yearly and how to live this Consecration, it is a way of life. The promises that God has given through Our Lady to those who live this Consecration, to Jesus through Mary, will not fall in to error and if they happen to do so,
She will grant them the grace to
get back on the right road.
Pope JPII, held up this devotion over and over and over in his writings. Those with spiritual eyes that see and ears that hear, have understood and responded.
Few have responded.
Fewer have responded well to God's call to conversion.
Mark Mallett (God bless him) has a wonderful Blog post on the nearness of the persecution which will soon be unleashed against the remnant faithful. It is under his series entitled "persecution" and it cites a priest's dream in which Father John Hardon warns of the nearness of the persecution. Interestingly, someone posted the article at the Holy Cross Cardinal Newman Society website.
