Dianne Williamson just doesn't get it...

In a previous post, I mentioned how Massachusetts second grader Jalen Cromwell was forced by the Taunton school district to undergo psychological evaluations for drawing a stick figure of the crucified Jesus with his own name on a placard above the corpus. Now John W. Whitehead, the president of the Rutherford Institute which is taking on Jalen Cromwell's case, has issued a statement saying that, "the effective suspension of Jalen from school deprived him and his parents of their constitutional rights to due process and punished Jalen for engaging in protected speech."

But for Dianne Williamson, columnist for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, this sad affair is simply much ado about nothing. Ms. Williamson describes the incident as "perfect fodder for the annual Christmas Wars, during which peace-loving Christians festively sue the pants off of anyone suspected of religious bias." She writes, "..the Taunton incident is only one more reminder that there's really no war on Christmas, but there's one heck of a battle waging against common sense." (Full article here).

In other words, Christians who object to their constitutional rights being violated or their due process rights denied are really not so peace-loving but are, rather, hypersensitive idiots who are lacking in common sense.

If there is any "battle against common sense" being waged in the Bay State, Ms. Williamson is a foot soldier in that campaign. See here for example.

The woman lives to bash Christians and Christianity in general. And most especially the Catholic Church.

Remember Williamson's take on the Larry Cirignano case? Her anti-Christian bias was in evidence there as well. I'm not surprised that as the T & G disintegrates (it's totally out of touch with the community it purports to serve) its' price at the news stand has gone from 50 cents to a dollar. It wasn't worth 50 cents. Even for the obits. It's definitely not worth a dollar. Boycott the T & G.

San Jose, Calif., Dec 19, 2009 / 03:37 am (CNA).- Legal charges are pending against a male Planned Parenthood escort who struck pro-life activist Lila Rose on the hands on Thursday outside an abortion clinic. She warned that the surprising attack should not help create a “double standard” that hinders clinic protesters’ free speech rights.

Rose, the president of Live Action Films who has led undercover investigations into the abortion provider, was not injured in the attack.

She was on a public sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood affiliate in San Jose, California with a group of about 20 students and three adults to pray and provide information to women who might be open to alternatives to abortion, a statement from Live Action says.

Shortly before noon on Thursday, she interacted with a uniformed male Planned Parenthood escort.

According to Rose, she spoke to the escort from the public sidewalk and asked him if he was familiar with the abortion procedure.

The escort then approached her rapidly from the Planned Parenthood parking lot and said, “You idiot. You've caused so much trouble. You piece of crap."

Rose asked if she could show him a picture of what abortion “really does to a baby.” The escort then struck Rose on the hand, knocking literature and a Bible to the ground

The attack on Lila Rose is inexcusable. Will Ms. Williamson condemn it as such? Don't hold your breath.

The persecution is spreading. In England, a teacher was fired for offering to pray for a sick girl. The teacher was accused of "bullying." See story here:

Secular humanists like Dianne Williamson dismiss such stories and attempt to convince others that Christianity isn't really being banished from the public square. But the evidence strongly suggests otherwise.

Here in the UK the sanitization of the Gospel has spread like a cancer.

You're telling a lie. The child did not draw a picture of the crucified Jesus. The sign at the top of the cross bore the child's own name, and the child confirmed that he had represented himself as the crucified figure. *THAT* was why the child was sent for the psych eval.

Please make sure you present all the facts when making a hot-button post like this. What you did was cherry-pick from the many facts in this matter, and chose only those that supported your political and philosophical point, and not the truth as a whole. That is a lie by omission, which is still considered bearing false witness by the church.

No anonymous, you are the one engaging in falsehood. I wrote (and you would know this if you took the time to actually READ what I wrote; apparently this is asking too much of you): "In a previous post, I mentioned how Massachusetts second grader Jalen Cromwell was forced by the Taunton school district to undergo psychological evaluations for drawing a stick figure of the crucified Jesus with his own name on a placard above the corpus.."

I DID mention that Jalen placed his name on the placard above the corpus. But what of it? The boy had just visited the La Salette Shrine in Attleboro where there is a crucifix such as the one he drew. You would know this if you actually familiarized yourself with the story. It would seem that once again you are guilty of the very charge you level against me and that YOU are not committed toward presenting "all the facts."

And what of Jalen's placing his name on the placard above the corpus? Are you a professional psychiatrist? Why do you assume that a young boy identifying with Jesus or perhaps simply admiring Him is evidence of a psychological problem?

If anyone is "cherry picking from the many facts" in order to support a "political and philosophical viewpoint," it is yourself. Please explain why Christians should be denied their due process rights or constitutional right to freedom of expression.

While you're at it, perhaps you could muster a shred of personal fortitude and and moral integrity and use your real name? Or don't you stand by your views?
