"The distrust of a chosen soul causes Me even greater pain..."

It was Sister Lucia (of the Fatima apparitions) who said, "the Virgin knew that these times of diabolical disorientation were to come" and who wrote, "Let people say the Rosary every day.  Our Lady stated that repeatedly in all her apparitions, as if to fortify us against these times of diabolical disorientation, so that we would not allow ourselves to be deceived by false doctrines...Unfortunately, the great majority of people are ignorant in religious matters and allow themselves to be led in any direction.  Hence, the great responsibility of one who has the task of leading them....A diabolical disorientation is invading the world, deceiving souls!  It must be resisted."  When questioned on the content of the Third Secret of Fatima, Sister Lucia replied, "It's in the Gospel and in the Apocalypse, read them."  She also confided to Father Fuentes that the Mother of God made her understand that "we are in the last times of the world."

Of course, this is too much for those confused souls who are puffed up with pride and who abhor anything pertaining to devotion to Mary.    Such people scoff at the very idea of chastisement.  In so doing they forget the words of St. Paul to the Thessalonians: "Do not quench the Spirit.  Do not despise prophetic utterances.  Test everything, retain what is good.  Refrain from every kind of evil." (1 Thess. 5: 19-22).  One such deluded soul informed me that the Akita apparition (which has been approved by the Church) is false and dangerous because it advanced socialism.  This same angry and misguided individual is accusing Pope Benedict XVI of being a "deceiver."  You shall know them by their fruits.

A chastisement is coming. Why? Father Albert Hebert, S.M., explains: "Sin and evil is the one enemy of mankind. It spearheads the columns of all the other evils it brings with it. It brings destruction and death, and a terrible eternal death for the unrepentant, those who flaunt their pride and their resistance in the face of a Loving and Merciful God, those who are a continuous scandal to others. They forget that God's Justice must be infinite too, and that sooner or later it must be exercised to preserve His honor and integrity, to save the innocent, to confirm the good and to justify the martyrs."

Our Lady has told numerous visionaries that a chastisement is coming.  To Fr. Gobbi Our Lady warned that, "A chastisement worse than the flood is about to come upon this poor and perverted humanity.  Fire will descend from Heaven and this will be the sign that the justice of God has as of now fixed the hour of His great manifestation.  I am weeping because the Church is continuing along the road of division, of loss of the true faith, of apostasy and of errors which are being spread more and more without anyone offering opposition to them.  Even now, that which I predicted at Ftaima and that which I have revealed here [Akita, Japan] in the third message confided to a little daughter of mine is in the process of being accomplished..." (September 15, 1987).

But all of this is too much to bear for those who are enamored with themselves and who despise not only prophecy but the very idea that the Mother of God would reveal such messages to those whom they deem "insignificant" and of no earthly importance.  The time of Mercy is coming to an end.  And the time of Justice is fast approaching.  Our Lord told Sister Faustina Kowalska, "The flames of Mercy are burning Me - clamoring to be spent; I want to pour them out upon these souls, distrust on the part of souls is tearing at My insides.  The distrust of a chosen soul causes Me even greater pain; despite My inexhaustible love for them they do not trust Me.  Even My death is not enough for them.  Woe to the soul that abuses these gifts." (Divine Mercy in my Soul, 50).

Our Lord is so rich in mercy that He told Saint Faustina, "Let the greatest sinners place their trust in My mercy. They have the right before others to trust in the abyss of My mercy. My daughter, write about My mercy towards tormented souls. Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable mercy.." (Divine Mercy in My Soul, Notebook III, 1146). This is one of the reasons I began this Blog. To promote the whole idea of reconciliation. The La Salette message is one of reconciliation. This is a message of hope. But also one of warning.

But many Americans - and this includes Catholics - have a tendency to hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest. Such people will read passages from Sacred Scripture (or other holy books) which they find comforting while glossing over others which they find troubling. By way of example, I've read many commentaries which cite the passage from Divine Mercy in My Soul which I just cited but which conveniently omit the last portion of the paragraph: "Write: before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy. He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice..."

It shouldn't surprise us when someone who has defended Father Nicholas Gruner - a suspended priest - as well as Father Leonard Feeney - whose notion of EENS was rejected by the Church and who was, for a time, excommunicated by the Church for disobedience, would portray Pope Benedict as deceitful.

Beware of anyone professing to be Catholic who attacks the Vicar of Christ. That is, needless to say, evidence of something gravely wrong in a person's spiritual life. In my opinion, it is strong evidence of the demonic.

To discount the whole idea of chastisement, one would have to dismiss literally probably hundreds of private revelations and apparition sites, many of which have received the Church's full approbation.

To do so would reckless as far as I'm concerned. I DO accept those which have the Church's approval. And no one is going to change my mind. If the Church says that a message is worthy of belief, that's good enough for me.

John, I've come across many disgruntled "traditional" Catholics who are really no better than dissidents of the liberal stripe. They feel it's their "mission" to correct the Church and her Magisterium and to dictate what constitutes "authentic Catholicism." These joy-less "Catholics" have set themselves up as a substitute magisterium as surely as Curran and other liberal fringe types did in the 60s and 70s (and continue to do).

Jesus told Faustina that those who refuse to pass through the door of his Mercy will pass through the door of His Justice. I don't think any Catholic should treat that lightly. God chastised His people in the Old Testament. What would make someone believe that He cannot do so now? Jesus warned that the last days would be like the days of Noah and that people would not be prepared for His coming (Matthew 24: 37-40).

I wouldn't take this lightly.

Jerry has left another comment at this Blog in an attempt to convince others that the Akita apparition is a fraud. Akita has been approved by the Church. As this link explains:

http://www.freerepublic.com/
focus/news/2222685/posts

The Devil works to sow division within the Church. And often (sadly) there are Catholics all too willing to assist him in his work.

Pope Benedict XVI is not a "deceiver" as Jerry has suggested at another Blog. The Vicar of Christ is a shining example of holiness of life as well as a great defender of the faith.

The Akita message warned that the Devil would infiltrate the Church. And so he has. With the help of certain individuals who have a hatred for the Holy Father and their own twisted agenda.

Regarding Chastisement.

as Padre Pio said;
"Pray, Hope, don't worry"

I love BVM as much as the next Catholic, but to me kind mommies don't tell scary stories to her children. I also believe the She so full of grace would not use the frightening images in order to bring people closer to Son.

I think it pride that leads come to believe they have the 'inside track' on salvation or who believe they are 'in the know' on God's will for his world.

Let me point you to an image that expresses the situation of too many chosen souls. It's a newsletter from the Sisters of St. Joseph, Boston http://www.csjboston.org/su-Dec-8-2010.pdf

Look at the liturgical dancers! Google the dance group and you'll find it's run by a women who calls herself a "community ordained priest." (Kathleen Henry, http://www.writersroomofboston.org/members.html)

It is hard to believe how fast and how far the Church has fallen in the last 50 years. Chastisement will be a mercy if it opens eyes at last.

Anonymous, you mention St. Padre Pio. He warned of chastisement himself and believed in Garabandal. Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi, Padre Pio, Elizabeth Canori-Mora, Rosa-Colomba Asdente, Palma d'Oria, in Italy; Father Nectou, in Belgium; St. Hildegard, in Germany; Pere Lamy, Marie Baourdi, Marie Martel and Marie-Julie Jahenny, in France(and this list is not exhaustive) all predicted a chastisement in the form of three days of darkness.

Padre Pio and other Catholics eminent for sanctity, have for centuries prophesied the dreadful coming chastisement of the
Three Days of Darkness; where at least half to three quarters of the world's population will be killed by God's Just Wrath.

The Church does not oblige us to believe in any particular prophecy as a matter of faith [de fide], but we are indeed obliged to believe that prophecies may be made even in our own times, for this is in the Gospel [Evangelium]: the Holy Ghost will speak to many in the Latter Days.

Moreover, when an identical prophecy has been made by widely separated people in time and space, when this particular prophecy was accompanied by other predictions which have already come to pass, and when the holiness of the mystics in question has been recognized by the Church, we would be foolish indeed not to believe that the prophecy must come to pass.

Were Pio and these other mystics "puffed up with pride"? Or could it be that it is you who are puffed up with pride?

You write, "I love BVM as much as the next Catholic, but to me kind mommies don't tell scary stories to her children. I also believe the She so full of grace would not use the frightening images in order to bring people closer to Son."

But you are assuming that chastisement is a BAD thing. Is it? Not according to God's Word (which you are obviously unfamilar with). For example, in Hebrews 12: 6-7, we read, "..For what 'son' is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are without discipline, in which all have shared, you are not sons but bastards."

The people of Nineveh were threatened with chastisement but repented in sackloth and ashes. And the chastisement did not come. The choice was theirs as it is ours.

Understand? Chastisement is used by God to bring His people back to Him. It is the act of a Loving Father. For to spare the rod is to spoil the child.

Anonymous and Jerry are one and the same person. It is wise to delete his comments. He is slandering you at BHE.

What? So you reject Fatima then? Our Lady opened up the earth and showed the three children Hell.

Isn't that a "frigthening image"?

Another poorly informed "Catholic."
