A new law in Hawaii can force churches to make their property available to homosexuals for civil union ceremonies. Under this law, if a church should refuse to allow the ceremonies on their property they could be subject to sanctions or fines. See here. In in its Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church on the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons, No. 17, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith emphasized the fact that church property should not be used for promoting homosexuality in general or same-sex unions. The CDF said that such activity, "..is contradictory to the purpose for which these institutions were founded" and that such activity would be "misleading and..scandalous."
Dignitatis Humanae of the Second Vatican Council insists that, "The freedom or immunity from coercion in matters religious which is the endowment of persons as individuals is also to be recognized as their right when they act in community. Religious communities are a requirement of the social nature both of man and of religion itself.
Provided the just demands of public order are observed, religious communities rightfully claim freedom in order that they may govern themselves according to their own norms, honor the Supreme Being in public worship, assist their members in the practice of the religious life, strengthen them by instruction, and promote institutions in which they may join together for the purpose of ordering their own lives in accordance with their religious principles.
Religious communities also have the right not to be hindered, either by legal measures or by administrative action on the part of government, in the selection, training, appointment, and transferral of their own ministers, in communicating with religious authorities and communities abroad, in erecting buildings for religious purposes, and in the acquisition and use of suitable funds or properties." (No. 4).
These rights are now under attack in Hawaii. As the article notes, "Now churches throughout America await the effects of this dangerous law and the inevitable attempt by homosexual activists to force them to use their property in violation of their religious convictions."
Once again, homosexual activists are attempting to use force to impose their agenda.

And they won't stop until all of the churches allow for "gay marriage" and celebrate sodomy. Like you said, this is a spiritual war.
Cardinal George of Chicago apologized for linking the radical homosexual agenda to the KKK and for what he "perceived" to be religious discrimination in the name of "gay rights."
Still want to apologize Your Eminence? As you genuflect before the world and apologize to the homosexual activists who detest us, our religious freedom continues to disintegrate.
We need true shepherds. Not moral cowards.
Maybe Cardinal Francis George would like to apologize now for the fact that the Catholic Church has erected buildings for religious purposes? Maybe His Eminence would like to apologize for the CDF's teaching? Or for more than 2,000 years of Church teaching regarding homosexuality?
After all, we wouldn't want anything to offend the "gay liberation movement" he spoke of in his apology.
Let's spend all of our time catering to this "liberation movement" as they strip us of our rights and freedoms under the United States Constitution.
Better yet, why don't we all just line up in front of mass graves and pay for the bullets which will be used to relieve us of our lives in the near future for not heartily embracing the sodomite agenda and world-view?
I'm sure that some people including feeble-minded Catholics will take comfort in this little caveat from the article: "While the law does protect pastors from having to perform the ceremonies, it does not provide protection for church property.."
But how long before such a distinction becomes a thing of the past? Once this law is accepted, then there will be pressure to force ministers and priests to bless homosexual unions. And then, laws will be enacted to force churches to teach that homosexual sex is "natural," "healthy" and even "holy" - a blessing from Almighty God.
We are on the slippery slope toward violent persecution.
First of all, how long, oh how long, until Crd. George retires???
And secondly, forcing the use of our buildings for this abomination would also require a resanctification of the sanctuary, as a sacreilege would have occurred there. Where would our Lord be during this 'ceremonies'...watching (and weeping) from the tabernacle?
Our troubled time. Susan. I couldn't agree with you more.
There is no other mean than to de-consecrate the Churches (a ceremony lasting a few minutes) and to go underground in private properties.
