National Education Association Set to Endorse Homosexual Marriage

This from the American Family Association:

The National Education Association is set to endorse homosexual marriage at their convention coming up in Orlando June 29 through July 6.

The new NEA proposal essentially says schools should support and actively promote homosexual marriage and other forms of marriage (two men and one woman, three women, two women and three men, etc.) in their local schools.

The new proposal, expected to pass overwhelmingly, is found under the B-8 Diversity paragraph:
The Association... believes in the importance of observances, programs and curricula that accurately portray and recognize the roles, contributions, cultures, and history of these diverse groups and individuals.

The Association believes that legal rights and responsibilities with regard to medical decisions, taxes, inheritance, adoption, legal immigration, domestic partnerships, and civil unions and/or marriage belong to all these diverse groups and individuals.

Translated, that means the NEA will promote homosexual marriage in every avenue they have available, including textbooks, to all children at all age levels and without the permission or knowledge of parents. Their plans will include every public school in America.

Let's pray that the Diocese of Manchester will issue an appropriate statement on this issue and provide some moral leadership.

Paul

I sure hope it does. Somehow I doubt it will though. When parishioners at St. Patrick's Parish in Jaffrey New Hampshire learned that their "pastor" (Rev. Roland Cote) had been having sexual relations with a teenage male, Bishop McCormack responded with a statement in which he said that the teenage male was not a minor at the time Fr. Cote had sex with him.

But why would a priest be having sex with anyone? The Bishop's statement gave the impression that he believes it's "okay" for a priest to have sex with another man as long as he is of age.

Prayers are needed in a big way. Yet they take God out of the schools and put in it's place worship of bodies. We have it seems taken the wrong road to gain eternity. And we wonder why we are damning ourselves. We promote evil.

Marie, I agree that prayers are much needed. And you are right in saying that our society is damning itself in promoting evil. Romans 1 is a very neglected chapter in the Bible.

Many priests, religious and lay people have apostasized from the Church. I don't think anyone can intelligently dispute that now. The numbers tell the story. In the Diocese of Manchester, churhes are emptying and vocations have dried up. Many "Catholic" couples freely contracept and many young people who were raised Catholic engage in sexual relations outside of marriage including sodomy.

We must have recourse to prayer. But we must also fight for the Faith of our Fathers. St. Ignatius of Loyola (the founder of the Society of Jesus - the Jesuits) told his followers to pray as if everything depended upon God (because it does) and to work as if everything depended upon them.

Sound advice from a great saint who wasn't an effete but instead a soldier for Christ.

I haven't seen too much from diocesan officials in NH period. Even the blasphemous movie The Da Vinci Code was only protested weeks after being released and after so many others were already protesting the film.
