Room for a Creator?

JayG over at Defend the Faith has a very interesting post which deserves your attention. The link above will take you to this posting. As I mentioned in my comment, "Christians have nothing to fear from science. But those who reject a Creator do."

According to growing numbers of scientists, the laws and constants of nature are so "finely-tuned," and so many "coincidences" have occurred to allow for the possibility of life, the universe must have come into existence through intentional planning and intelligence.

It was Harold Morowitz who said, "Random events cannot account for the origin of life, at least not in the time available."

But even if we had a near eternity, the odds you cite prove beyond any doubt that an Intelligent Designer was at work. And we call Him: God.

Materialism just doesn't make any sense. It is self-refuting. If materialism were true, if there were no spirit, no human soul and no God, then we would have to say that the brain is programmed by mere chance.

If all the programming our brains have received through heredity, and environment is ultimately only unintelligent, undesigned, random chance, brute facts, physical causes, not logical reasons, then we can never trust them.

As Peter Kreeft put it, "..materialism cannot be true. It refutes itself. It destroys its own credentials. If the brain is nothing but blind atoms, we have no reason to trust it when it tells us about anything, including itself and atoms. Thus, if there is nothing but atoms, we have no reason to believe there is nothing but atoms."

The universe is a more complicated clock than most of us imagine. To suggest that every component of this clock just "magically" fell into place by "coincidence" is foolishness.

It takes far more faith to believe that than it does to accept a Creator.

The liberal main stream media simply refuse to acknowledge this. They ignore the scientific data because it is deemed "inconvenient" to their own anti-God programme. But, as you mention, more and more scientists are acknowledging Intelligent Design. Science is on our side.

Thank you all for your comments. By the grace of God, (without which nothing is possible), we will all come to realize that the events which cosmologists say followed the Big Bang and those described in the Book of Genesis are one and the same.

Christian, thank you for your kind note.

God love you all,
Paul.
