The Archdiocese of Boston: Saying yes to those who associate with demons

Saint Peter Damian, a Doctor of the Church, in his book Liber Gomorrhianus (The Book of Gomorrah), tells us that the vice of sodomy "surpasses the enormity of all others" because, "Without fail, it brings death to the body and destruction to the soul. It pollutes the flesh, extinguishes the light of the mind, expels the Holy Spirit from the temple of the human heart, and gives entrance to the devil, the stimulator of lust. It leads to error, totally removes truth from the deluded mind ... It opens up hell and closes the gates of paradise ... It is this vice that violates temperance, slays modesty, strangles chastity, and slaughters virginity ... It defiles all things, sullies all things, pollutes all things ...This vice excludes a man from the assembled choir of the Church ... it separates the soul from God to associate it with demons. This utterly diseased queen of Sodom renders him who obeys the laws of her tyranny infamous to men and odious to God. She strips her knights of the armor of virtue, exposing them to be pierced by the spears of every vice ... She humiliates her slave in the church and condemns him in court; she defiles him in secret and dishonors him in public; she gnaws at his conscience like a worm and consumes his flesh like fire. ... this unfortunate man (he) is deprived of all moral sense, his memory fails, and the mind's vision is darkened. Unmindful of God, he also forgets his own identity. This disease erodes the foundation of faith, saps the vitality of hope, dissolves the bond of love. It makes way with justice, demolishes fortitude, removes temperance, and blunts the edge of prudence."

Now, in a previous post, I noted how Father Thomas Massaro, S.J., a professor at Boston College who recently spoke at a "Social Justice Conference" with Father J. Bryan Hehir, is a member of the Cambridge Peace Commission, an organization intimately linked with the GLBT agenda which presented an award to Mr. Sarav Chidambaram of the Cambridge GLBT Commission.  Mr. Chidambaram is also a board member of MassEquality, a radical homosexual organization which promotes same-sex "marriage."

But equally troubling is the work of militant homosexual activist Charles Martel, a clinical social worker in Boston who received his BA and MSW from Catholic University of America.  Mr. Martel has worked for Catholic Charities within the Diocese of Worcester and for the Family Counseling and Guidance Center in Braintree, Massachusetts, a clinic which is affiliated with the Boston Archdiocese.  Mr. Martel served as a member of the Board of the Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry and recently co-founded Catholics for Marriage Equality.  He is described as an "active member of St. Ignatius Parish in Chestnut Hill."  (See here).  One has to assume then that Mr. Martel receives Holy Eucharist.  One has to wonder how archdiocesan officials reconcile this with Canon 915 of the Code of Canon Law and with the clear and unambiguous teaching of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1395.

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, in its document entitled Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons, warns that even where homosexual unions have been legalized, "clear and emphatic opposition is a duty." (No. 5). This important document stresses that, "any kind of formal cooperation in the enactment or application of such gravely unjust laws" and even any "material cooperation on the level of their application" must be avoided. "In this area," states the document, "everyone can exercise the right to conscientious objection."

Apparently the Boston Archdiocese doesn't take this teaching very seriously.

Considerations makes it abundantly clear that, "The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behavior or to considerations of homosexual unions." (No. 11). In other words, there can be no doubt that all Catholics have a moral duty to oppose the homosexual agenda

An article written by Lisa Wangsness and titled "Firestorm over column on gays in Catholic paper," quoted Charles Martel as having said that Cardinal O'Malley must "decide where he really stands."

Amen to that! One cannot sit on the fence forever. One has to choose sides. Where did I read that? Oh yes, Revelation 3:16.

There is a basic credo of many who profess to be Catholic today. It says "create your own reality according to what feels right for you." Whether someone chooses to be homosexual, bisexual, monogamous, polygamous or to engage in whatever aberration, it's considered "okay" as long as "it's right for me."

The apostasy has spread almost everywhere now. I think most have simply given up on truth. They are ready to worship demons. And the Man of Sin.

Over at Boston Catholic Insider, a woman named Carolyn stated that, "there is no lavender agenda." Another blog commenter asked the BCI team to delete the link to this Blog post which Michael posted at BCI.

This comes as no surprise to me. The subject of homosexuality is one which the Church in this country refuses to address.

Roger, I encounter this attitude all the time. As I noted in a previous post, Fr. Charles Fiore said that, "..the subject of homosexuality in U.S. culture [and this includes the Church] is the "grand taboo."

In one of its newsletters, Roman Catholic Faithful [Stephen Brady's group] had this to say:"Priests/Brothers/church workers who abuse minors and commit criminal offences have been able to hide within a sympathetic underworld of other clergy [and this is what is meant by "Lavender Mafia"] and church workers who are..breaking their vows by having heterosexual or gay sex with consenting adults. All are doing the wrong thing and have a similar incentive to provide mutual support. They share an unstated capacity for mutual blackmail.." The same newsletter quotes from Sipe in his book "Sex, Priests and Power: Anatomy of a Crisis, p. 173:

"A weeping young American priest struggled to absorb an experience that threatened his idealism and tells his story: 'I had completed graduate schools and was flattered when my Bishop asked me to accompany him to a high-level meeting attended by a large number of the Hierarchy. During my time there, I was approached and asked for sex by a Bishop from another diocese. I declined, and the Bishop remarked: 'You know, Father, if you want to progress in this organisation, you are going to need friends.' The young priest was to find out later that some men on the Bishop's staff were themselves connected sexually to the gay network..he witnessed priests who won promotions based on sexual involvement, was offered pornography and endured sexual advances from a number of highly-placed fellow clergy."

The extent of the homosexual network should not be underestimated. Obviously there are pro-homosexual persons within the Archdiocese of Boston reading the Boston Catholic Insider Blog. I say this because I have received half a dozen comments since last evening ridiculing my post and referring to that Blog. Of course the good folks over at Boston Catholic Insider are not responsible for this. But whenever the subject of the homosexual network is raised, immediately there are denials that any such problem exists.

Tell that to Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz and other solid orthodox Bishops. Bishop Bruskewitz wanted the Bishops to investigate this issue. And they chose not to do so.

Paul Anthony Melanson said...

"I don’t think there’s any doubt that, in many dioceses, colleges, and universities, the homosexual attitude is very powerful. After all, the abuse crisis is a homosexual issue, not a pedophile issue, involving adolescent boys."

This quotation from Stephen Brady addresses what we're up against: "Th Catholic Church, through its Bishops, was at one time, the one immovable force the sodomites could not overcome. That has changed. Active homosexual Bishops and priests, aided by their compromised heterosexual counterparts, have reached the point where they now control much of the Church Hierarchy. While the devil they work for (the devil they don't believe in) seeks the destruction of the Church, these sodomite Bishops and priests, blinded by sin, are working towards the acceptance of their perversion. It is the nature of the 'Beast.' To this end, sodomite clergy needed the cooperation of a majority of the laity. They accomplished this with the Pill. By direct promotion of, or by simply ignoring the use of the birth control pill by the Faithful, the corrupt Hierarchy has purchased the souls of millions of Catholics who now live as unrepentant sinners. These compromised Catholics are, for the most part, the ones who are pro-choice, pro-homosexual, and represent the liberal wing of the Church that accept all the sinful innovations that have now found a home in the local parish.."

Can you better understand why some bloggers don't want to discuss the homosexual element within the Church Roger? They don't view homosexuality as having any part in the corruption. They no longer view homosexuality as a sin.

"Hear the word of the LORD, O people of Israel, for the LORD has a grievance against the inhabitants of the land: There is no fidelity, no mercy, no knowledge of God in the land. False swearing, lying, murder, stealing and adultery! in their lawlessness, bloodshed follows bloodshed. Therefore the land mourns, and everything that dwells in it languishes: The beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and even the fish of the sea perish. But let no one protest, let no one complain; with you is my grievance, O priests! You shall stumble in the day, and the prophets shall stumble with you at night; I will destroy your mother. My people perish for want of knowledge! Since you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from my priesthood; Since you have ignored the law of your God, I will also ignore your sons. One and all they sin against me, exchanging their glory for shame. They feed on the sin of my people, and are greedy for their guilt. The priests shall fare no better than the people: I will punish them for their ways, and repay them for their deeds. They shall eat but not be satisfied, they shall play the harlot but not increase, Because they have abandoned the LORD to practice harlotry. Old wine and new deprive my people of understanding." (Hosea 4: 1-11).

There are those who will not understand. They don't want to.

The sin of sodomy does indeed darken the mind in a most significant way. A Boston area graduate student who describes himself as a "theologian-in-training," and as "an unrepentant Roman Catholic gay male," authors a Blog titled "Baptized Pagan." See here:

I guarantee that if you have the courage to speak the truth about the homosexual network in the Church, you will be ostracized.

Now a comment I wrote at Boston Catholic Insider has been removed. I guess someone doesn't want the subject of homosexuality discussed there.
