Slouching toward destruction...

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary."

                                                                   - Our Lady to Sister Agnes Sasagawa, Akita, Japan.

"Whoever strikes against God strikes down himself. The atheist denying God degrades himself. The atheist exalting himself above God sinks below the level of animate and inanimate beings. Liberation from God is enslavement in creatures. Absolute humanism is the sure road to absolute despotism. Denial of God as truth begets the imprisonment of man in the self-imposed darkness of his own myths...We will only profoundly appreciate the satanic nature of atheism when we realize that denial of God is not merely an indifferent Nay-saying to God, but a kind of blasphemous joy at hating God and a thrilling decision to unite men in a community of enduring hate for the purpose of banishing God from the hearts of men." (Father Vincent P. Miceli, S.J., The Gods of Atheism, p. 461).

I believe God is lifting His protection from this nation. We are rejecting His Commandments and He will deliver us up to our own iniquity. America is in dire need of repentance. But do our priests lead the way? They have fallen silent.

Paul, you are being criticized by Jerry at the Bryan Hehir Exposed Blog. You're right, it didn't take long for such criticism to surface...lol...Jerry is the reason I stopped visiting that Blog. He's divisive and criticizes everyone who doesn't march in lockstep with his peculiar agenda which is obviously sedevacantist and Feeneyite.

He's also implying that you are promoting Medjugorje. But I have seen no evidence of this (not that that would be a bad thing). If only people like Jerry could spend more time opposing the homosexualists, abortionists and dissidents within the Church and less time attacking fellow Catholics. People like Jerry actually turn people off the Church. They harm evangelization because they give others the perception we cannot even get along ourselves.

What a miserable wretch.

Wendy, it's obvious that charity is a strong suit in Jerry's brand of Catholicism. I was not (as you have correctly noted) promoting Medjugorje. Why would I have to? There are plenty of Church-approved apparitions such as Akita which warn of chastisement.

Another example is the apparitions at Kibeho, which have also received the approval of the Church. One of the visionaries (or seers if you prefer that term) has said, "I saw mountains crashing into each other...Stones coming out of the earth, nearly as if they were angry. I saw storms crashing against each other and fire coming from them. I don't know what this means. I was told that people are causing this and that it is coming."

See here:

I think you're right about Jerry. He seems more interested in fighting against Catholics who are faithful to the Church's Magisterium than he is with resisting the culture of dissent within the Church.

If Jerry wants to disregard Church-approved apparitions such as Kibeho, Akita, La Salette and many others which warn of danger, that's his affair. A Catholic does not have to accept private revelations. See paragraph 67 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

But the question arises: is it wise to reject messages from the Virgin Mother of God which have the Church's approval? I submit that the answer to that question is no.

For that reason, I take apparitions such as Fatima and the ones cited above seriously. Apparently Jerry does not.

Jerry left a comment here accusing me of being "off topic" with regard to a post at the Bryan Hehir Exposed Blog. Specifically, the post was about changes in MCFL. Actually, I believe my comment was entirely germaine to the topic.

The authors of the Blog asked, "Can anyone tell us what’s going on at Massachusetts Citizens for Life (MCFL) lately? Years ago, when MCFL endorsed a political candidate you could be very confident the candidate was 100% pro-life and supportive of marriage between a man and woman. And when they held an event, you could be certain all of the speakers had Catholic/Christian values consistent with life, family, and the teachings of the Church. Neither of those are true any more, as exemplified by MCFL’s plans to have the frequently anti-Catholic columnist, Howie Carr, as featured speaker at their January Assembly for Life event.
Under MCFL President, Anne Fox, now we never know what to expect from MCFL. Are Fr. Bryan Hehir’s tentacles of relativism somehow extending beyond the Archdiocese of Boston to MCFL?"

I left a comment in which I said (in part), "Those who have not received the love of truth are now submerged in sheer darkness. A chastisement is about to fall upon mankind."

My comment is rooted in Sacred Scripture. In Romans 1: 21, the Holy Spirit tells us through Saint Paul that those who refuse to honor God and His Commandments become "futile in their thinking" and their "senseless minds are darkened."

Apparently the Word of God isn't considered relevant to the discussion as to what's happening at MCFL. Or perhaps it's just my views which are not welcome?

Paul, you do not denounce the Popes while claiming to be "more Catholic" than the Vicar of Christ. This is Jerry's real problem with you I guess.
