The Tridentine Mass
The Roman Rite, as codified by Pope St. Pius V, (often referred to as the "Latin Mass") is again available thanks to Pope John Paul II's 1984 indult and the promulgation of Ecclesia Dei in 1988.
Pope John Paul II has called for "a wide and generous application" of this Roman Rite.
